President Donald Trump will travel to Camp David on Friday for a Cabinet meeting as Republican criticism mounts over his administration’s Iran agreement.
The White House announced the trip shortly after Vice President JD Vance canceled a planned visit to Switzerland, where direct talks with Iran were expected to take place.
Late Thursday, the White House said Vance would no longer attend the Switzerland meeting and described the logistics surrounding the talks as neither “simple” nor “predictable.”

Trump’s original May trip to the presidential retreat in Maryland was scrapped because of what he called “possible bad weather conditions” in a Truth Social post at the time.
The Cabinet meeting comes as Trump faces growing criticism from some Republicans over the administration’s diplomatic engagement with Iran. Some GOP lawmakers have publicly questioned the approach, with several pinning blame on Vance while sidestepping direct criticism of Trump.
The Friday gathering at Camp David marks the first full Cabinet meeting at the historic retreat since Trump postponed it last month.
