At the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) on February 20th, Vance again addressed his German allies, remarking, “Germany’s entire defense is subsidized by the American taxpayer… Do you think the American taxpayer is going to stand for that if you get thrown in jail in Germany for posting a mean tweet?”
In a recent appearance on Fox News, Vance reiterated his warnings: “If Germany takes in millions more incompatible migrants, it’ll destroy itself. America can’t save it.” His concern is clear: Europe, and Germany in particular, risk undermining democracy through restrictive free-speech laws and misguided migration policies, all while leaning heavily on U.S. support.
