For the patriotic folks witnessing the strengthening of our national borders, it’s no surprise that the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Mounted Patrol and the Border Patrol Horse Unit are working tirelessly to secure our nation. Just this past week, they successfully tracked and captured two illegal aliens in the rugged brush of Webb County, Texas.

Thanks to advanced monitoring systems, a camera alert from private ranchland called these dedicated teams into action. In true Texan fashion, they followed the trail of shoe prints for two miles, ultimately leading to the apprehension of two Mexican nationals, now in the custody of the Border Patrol.

Supporting their ground efforts, the CBP Air and Marine Operations provided crucial air support to ensure a successful operation.

It’s a testament to the bravery and vigilance of our Texas border defenders, who have faced immense challenges under a previous administration. Fortunately, with President Trump back at the helm, these efforts are now bolstered by federal support.

In 2021, Governor Greg Abbott launched Operation Lone Star, a bold initiative to stem the tide of illegal immigration and drug trafficking. This operation is a shining example of Texan resolve in the face of adversity, proving that our Constitution empowers us to defend our borders.

Earlier this month, the fruits of their labor were seen when DPS, in collaboration with federal agencies, seized 790 pounds of cocaine valued at over $10 million. This successful operation underlines the risks posed by Mexican drug cartels, which escalate as illegal crossings decline.

As stated in Article IV, Section 4 of the United States Constitution, the government is responsible for protecting its citizens against invasions. As such, President Trump swiftly took action to reinforce our southern border from the moment he resumed office, a clear signal that the rule of law has returned to the United States.
