CNN’s Erin Burnett sided with Fox News host Mark Levin after he demanded President Donald Trump release the full text of his Iran agreement.
The Trump administration signed a memorandum of understanding with Iran over the weekend aimed at ending the war. Details remain sparse, but reports indicate the U.S. will unfreeze Iranian assets and Iran could access a $300 billion reconstruction fund.
Vice President JD Vance, who signed the memo, said the fund is “the sort of thing they could have access to” if Iran agrees to terms.
“I have asked for days, why can’t we, the people, see the damn MOU? Not through people briefed by an anonymous person. Honestly, I’ve never seen anything like this. If it is a great outcome for peace, then release it.”
Levin posted the demand on social media Sunday, pressing the administration for transparency on the one-and-a-half-page document.
Burnett read the post on Monday’s OutFront and agreed.
“Well, he’s got a point,” Burnett said. “It is all about the details. I mean, after all, the Obama [Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action] deal with Iran was 159 pages. So if the one-and-a-half-page MOU is great, why not release it?”
Some hawkish GOP voices have criticized the arrangement. Fox News contributor Marc Thiessen called such a plan a “disaster” on social media and appeared on Fox News to pan the agreement.
Levin has repeatedly urged Trump to reject negotiations and instead pursue regime removal in Iran.
“They would be committing an act of defiance against Allah, for whom they are committed to die,” Levin said of Iranian leadership Saturday. “We and they are on two totally different wavelengths.”
