President Donald Trump amplified a weekend interview in which Ben Shapiro defended Run Hide Fight: Infidels — the Daily Wire’s latest action film that confronts radical Islam head-on without Hollywood’s usual political correctness.
Trump posted the full clip Sunday morning to his 13 million Truth Social followers. The video features conservative host Mark Levin praising the film as “fantastic” and a “tour de force” before asking Shapiro why the Daily Wire produced it.
The presidential endorsement highlights the growing intersection between conservative media and mainstream entertainment, as alternative platforms increasingly challenge Hollywood’s traditional gatekeeping role. The Daily Wire has positioned itself at the forefront of this shift, investing heavily in original film and television content designed to appeal to audiences seeking alternatives to legacy studios.
“It’s a lot of fun, and it also makes a really important point. It is the only movie that I think that’s been made in the last twenty years, essentially, that tells the truth about what radical Islam actually does, but does it in a fun and entertaining way.”
The film’s plot centers on extremists who commandeer a pro-Hamas student protest, seize an American university, and establish a “mini caliphate” on campus. Jonathan Majors stars as Clay Saunders, a retired Delta Force operator who teams up with students to fight back.
The storyline taps into contemporary anxieties about campus activism and Middle Eastern geopolitics, particularly following the intense debates over student protests that have roiled universities across the country. By dramatizing worst-case scenarios, the film engages with political tensions that traditional Hollywood studios have largely avoided addressing directly in action entertainment.
Shapiro described the film as a cross between Red Dawn and Blazing Saddles. He cited one widely shared scene in which the extremists throw a gay student from a rooftop — depicting what would actually happen if groups like ISIS seized control of an American campus.
The reference to Red Dawn invokes the 1984 Cold War classic about teenagers fighting Soviet invaders, while Blazing Saddles represents Mel Brooks’ satirical approach to sensitive social topics. The comparison suggests the Daily Wire’s intention to blend serious political commentary with provocative humor that pushes against contemporary content boundaries.
“The point of view of the movie is that radical Islam is indeed a real threat, and the radical Muslims in the film act like actual radical Muslims,” Shapiro said. “That’s what would happen if ISIS were to take over an American campus. ‘Queers for Palestine’ would end up at the bottom of the building, in reality.”
Levin closed the interview by praising the Daily Wire for using entertainment to reach new audiences. Shapiro confirmed the film is the first entry in the company’s new entertainment strategy. “We’ve got much more coming,” he said.

The original Run Hide Fight focused on a school shooting scenario and marked the Daily Wire’s initial venture into Hollywood-style production. That film established the franchise framework that Infidels now builds upon, creating a recognizable brand for action thrillers with conservative sensibilities.
Majors — who starred in Marvel’s “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” — told the New York Post last week that he saw the role as a chance to grow as an artist. His character carries major responsibilities in the film, and Majors said he thought, “I’d love to play that.”
The casting of Majors, a rising star with major studio credentials, represents a notable coup for the Daily Wire’s efforts to attract established talent to its productions. His involvement lends mainstream credibility to a project that deliberately positions itself outside traditional Hollywood distribution channels.
