Two Obama-appointed federal judges appeared on a George Soros-funded anti-Trump podcast to attack the Trump administration for calling out judicial activism on the bench.
District Judges Esther Salas and Beth Bloom went on the Legal AF podcast Friday to slam Department of Homeland Security General Counsel James Percival. His crime? Posting an X thread titled “Worst of the Worst, District Judge Edition” that documented Democrat-appointed judges blocking Trump immigration enforcement.
The thread highlighted cases where judges appeared to ignore the Supreme Court’s Mullin v. Doe ruling on Temporary Protected Status and the government’s efforts to deport criminal foreign nationals.
“What’s going on with some of these District Judges is absolutely ABSURD…what these judges are doing is engaging in naked politics and then they’re shrouding it in the thin veneer of legalese.”
Salas accused Percival of “mischaracterizing” the judges’ rulings and claimed the posts amounted to “intimidating any future judge by saying, ‘You wanna go on the Worst of the Worst list next week, judge? You wanna do that, or fall in line?'”
She called the criticism “anti-democratic.”
Bloom went further, calling Percival’s posts an “intimidation tactic” designed “to bring others to do harm.”
At no point did Percival threaten anyone or call for threats. He named the judges, summarized their rulings, and explained how those decisions contradict the administration’s immigration enforcement.
The platform the judges chose is telling.
Legal AF is a product of the MeidasTouch Network — a left-wing outlet founded by the same brothers who launched the MeidasTouch PAC that worked for Democrats in 2020. George Soros’ Soros Fund Management led an investment push that poured funds into the network this year, according to Bloomberg.

The network describes itself as “independent” and “pro-democracy.” Its YouTube channel tells a different story — video after video attacking Trump and conservative Supreme Court justices with sensationalized thumbnails.
Two supposedly neutral federal judges just went on a Soros-funded partisan podcast to claim that accurate criticism of their colleagues’ work amounts to incitement.
The irony is sharp. For years, leftists have threatened Supreme Court justices over rulings Democrats didn’t like.
In 2020, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer warned Justices Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh they’d “pay the price” if they ruled against abortion precedent. The 2022 Dobbs leak triggered death threats, protesters at justices’ homes, and an attempted hit on Kavanaugh at his family residence.
The Biden administration declined to prosecute activists violating federal law by protesting at justices’ homes.
The would-be Kavanaugh killer later received a light sentence from a Biden-appointed judge.
Other incidents include a Michigan Democrat Senate candidate fantasizing about throwing beers at Kavanaugh and Justice Amy Coney Barrett, Justice Clarence Thomas skipping in-person events due to security threats, and a swatting attempt at Barrett’s home.
Percival’s X thread didn’t call for violence. It didn’t dox anyone. It documented public court rulings from named judges in open cases.
That two federal judges would equate factual criticism with intimidation — while appearing on a Soros-funded platform built to attack Trump — tells you everything about the judicial activist playbook.
