Mia Love, born Ludmya Bourdeau in Brooklyn, New York, to Haitian immigrant parents, embarked on her journey to Utah in the late 1990s, where she soon dedicated herself to public service. Her political career began on the Saratoga Springs City Council, eventually rising to the position of mayor.
In 2014, Love shattered glass ceilings by becoming the first Black Republican woman to serve in the U.S. House of Representatives, representing Utah’s 4th congressional district. Throughout her two terms, she was a steadfast conservative voice, though she sometimes critiqued Trump’s policies.
Unfortunately, in the 2018 midterms, she lost her seat to Salt Lake County’s Democratic Mayor Ben McAdams. Nevertheless, Love remained an influential voice in political commentary. She passionately supported President Trump’s re-election campaign, asserting that he and J.D. Vance had a “passionate vision of an American revival that enables all Americans to pursue their dreams.”
After this past week, I’m all in on team Trump/Vance! They have a passionate vision of an American revival that enables all Americans to pursue their dreams.
