In a world that seems to forget its history, we find renewed relevance in the wise words of George Washington—a true patriot who, like President Trump, understood the perils of entangling our nation in foreign conflicts. Washington, in his Farewell Address of 1796, warned us against forming permanent alliances and getting embroiled in European affairs.
“Europe has a set of primary interests which to us have none or a very remote relation. Hence she must be engaged in frequent controversies, the causes of which are essentially foreign to our concerns. Hence, therefore, it must be unwise in us to implicate ourselves by artificial ties in the ordinary vicissitudes of her politics or the ordinary combinations and collisions of her friendships or enmities.”
Today, the mainstream media is quick to label former President Donald Trump as a Kremlin collaborator, echoing this time-tested caution. Because he advocates for U.S. withdrawal from Ukraine and insists on European accountability for their own defense, they accuse him of aligning with Russian interests. This portrayal aims to undermine Trump’s efforts to hold NATO allies accountable, as his policies are mischaracterized as weakening Western unity.
Even though these allegations date back decades, alleging that Russian intelligence cultivated Trump as an asset since 1987, they are still unfounded. Despite extensive media narratives, no proof has emerged to demonstrate Trump’s supposed deference to Russian President Vladimir Putin or that his policies prioritize Russian over American interests.
Critics bizarrely argue that sending more U.S. funds to Ukraine would better serve American interests, even if it means risking war. Yet, logic dictates that Trump’s stance of reducing foreign aid aligns more with our nation’s interests.
Investigations, including the 2019 Mueller report, found no collusion between Trump or his campaign and the Russian government. Likewise, the 2023 Durham report exposed flaws but found no new evidence against Trump regarding alleged Russian ties. These exhaustive investigations remain fruitless in producing evidence to validate claims of Trump being a Russian agent.
Many intelligence officials speculating about Trump’s Russian ties often have political biases, having criticized him long before his presidency. Some even pushed false narratives, like the 2020 letter claiming Hunter Biden’s laptop was Russian disinformation, which was later proven true. This underscores a troubling trend of biased narratives overshadowing facts.
Despite these truths, a coordinated effort by media and politicians suppressed factual reporting, notably the Hunter Biden story, which was buried under misleading disinformation claims until after the 2020 election. Social media platforms went as far as suspending accounts of those who dared report the truth.
Conclusively, no substantial evidence exists showing Trump as a Russian asset. The accusations are built on speculation and political motives, not facts. Ironically, it seems the left believes in restoring democracy by defying Washington’s advice, choosing instead to pour billions into foreign conflicts and draw us closer to war.
In truth, democracy thrives when partisan influences and media manipulation are set aside, allowing facts and justice to guide our nation’s path forward.
