A tarot card reader with nearly one million TikTok followers walked away from it all last week—deleting her entire account, shutting down her lucrative Etsy shop, and proclaiming that Jesus Christ saved her life.

Alexandra Ashcroft, known online as “Alex Reads Tarot,” posted a video announcing she’s now a Christian and can no longer read tarot cards or create occult content.

The conversion cost her everything she’d built in the so-called WitchTok space.

“Over the past nearly a year, my faith has become the most important thing in my life. Through that journey, I’ve spent a lot of time reflecting, questioning, praying, and trying to understand my faith more and where God was starting to lead me.”

Ashcroft’s TikTok account had more than 933,000 followers. She scrubbed every post except two—one explaining why she left, another directing followers to her new account: @AlexCourageInChrist.

She’s starting from zero followers.

Ashcroft told her followers she doesn’t know exactly what comes next—but she knows one thing.

“I don’t know exactly what comes next for me, but what I do know is that Jesus Christ has saved my life, and I can no longer ignore that reality,” she said in the video, which has already racked up millions of views.

Her new account will likely focus on scripture and Christian themes, though she said she’s still seeking where the Lord is leading her.

Ashcroft also quietly closed her Etsy shop, where she had logged more than 27,000 sales selling tarot readings and spiritual services.

The video sparked an outpouring of support from Christians online—but also backlash. Ashcroft reportedly lost tens of thousands of followers after the announcement.

In a follow-up video, she said she has no need to convince anyone of anything.

She knows the truth. God knows the truth. That’s all that matters.
