The AP has officially called the presidential race for Donald Trump, and the reactions from mainstream media are pouring in, none more fiery than those from the hosts of ‘The View.’
The daytime talk show’s co-hosts erupted during Wednesday’s broadcast, not holding back in their opinions about Trump’s win and their frustrations over what they claim is unchecked misinformation and a failure to regulate social media. As the segment began, co-hosts Joy Behar and Sara Haines were visibly shaken. Behar didn’t mince words about the perceived dangers of “fake news” and her desire for increased censorship to “teach children tolerance.”
“Can we not let Fox News off the hook, please?” Behar said. “All the fake news that’s been going out there. You know, one of the things that we need to do, and it’s not to abolish the Department of Education, as a former teacher, believe me, this is, he’s [Trump] talking about doing that.”
Haines weighed in, saying, “Well, it would help if we could regulate social media … because one of the biggest defenders is D.C. and Congress, have not been able to do one thing in regard to the rogue corporations.”

“It’s not going to get any better with Elon Musk in the administration,” Behar added. The irony wasn’t lost on viewers who tuned in, noting the hosts’ own bias as they condemned other networks for airing opinions they disagreed with.
Trump was the victor after his win in Wisconsin pushed his electoral count to 277, clearing the necessary 270 votes for triumph. Trump clinched critical battleground states such as Georgia, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin, which sealed Harris’s electoral fate.
Trump’s campaign saw increased voter support across nearly all U.S. counties, notably excelling in the Rust Belt. His victory not only signifies a remarkable political revival following his 2020 defeat by Joe Biden but also sets a record as the first to be elected after a felony conviction—having been found guilty on multiple counts of so-called “fraud” earlier in the year.
Vice President Harris has conceded the race. She phoned Trump to congratulate him earlier today and is set to speak to her followers at Howard University soon.
Moreover, the Republican Party has retaken the Senate with wins in Montana, West Virginia, and Ohio. The control of the House of Representatives is still up for grabs, pending the results of several critical races. Global leaders, including Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, have quickly offered their congratulations. Financial markets have reacted favorably, with U.S. stocks hitting new highs in the wake of the election outcome.
