President Donald Trump revealed he has left standing orders to obliterate Iran should Tehran succeed in its ongoing plot to assassinate him.
“I’ve left instructions — if anything happens, to just literally bomb them at levels that they’ve never seen before,” Trump told the New York Post Friday.
“I’ve been on their list for a long time. That’s what we’re dealing with. The only thing is, I’ve left instructions — if anything happens, to just literally bomb them at levels that they’ve never seen before.”
The president confirmed he remains Iran’s number-one target years after ordering the 2020 strike that took out Iranian Gen. Qasem Soleimani. Tehran has never stopped seeking revenge.
Trump dismissed recent reports that Israel flagged a new Iranian assassination plot, saying the intelligence contained nothing new.
“No, no, Israel came up with nothing,” Trump said. “I’ve been No. 1 [on Iran’s kill list] for a long time, and it’s the way life is, you know.”
Mourners at the recent funeral for Iran’s slain supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, chanted explicit calls for Trump’s death. Women held placards reading “Kill Trump.”
“I swear by the blood of the Supreme Leader, Trump, we will kill you!” they shouted during the procession in Tehran.
Trump has survived domestic threats as well. In July 2024, a bullet grazed his ear when a shooter opened fire during a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.
The warning comes as tensions between Washington and Tehran escalate. Trump called off a ceasefire after Iran fired on three ships in the Strait of Hormuz this week.
“The Islamic Republic of Iran has asked us to continue ‘talks.’ We have agreed to do so, but the United States has stated to them, in no uncertain terms, that the Cease Fire is OVER!”
Trump posted the update Friday on Truth Social, confirming talks would continue despite Iran’s aggression.
At a NATO summit press conference in Ankara, Turkey, Trump addressed Iran’s leadership turnover and his status as their top target.
“They had leaders, they’re gone. Then they had another set of leaders, they’re gone,” he said. “Now they have another set of leaders — they may be gone, who knows? And you know what? I may be gone too. Because I’m their No. 1 target — it’s out all over the place. Because they’re scum.”
Iran has sought Trump’s life since the Soleimani strike neutralized one of the regime’s most powerful military commanders. The regime considers Trump personally responsible and has kept him atop its kill list ever since.
Trump’s standing order ensures Iran knows the cost of success: total retaliation at a scale the regime has never experienced.
