While some so-called experts focus solely on the Constitution as a living document, it’s vital that we also champion the Declaration of Independence. This storied document symbolizes our enduring fight against tyranny, from the British crown of the 18th century to any modern-day adversaries seeking to undermine America’s sovereignty.
Recently, left-wing media voices from outlets like MSNBC, The Atlantic, and Huffington Post have criticized President Trump’s decision to place the Declaration in the Oval Office. They absurdly claim it suggests he desires to rule America as a monarch.
These critics, posing as journalists, have even likened President Trump’s actions to Nicolas Cage’s character in National Treasure, suggesting an intent to “steal” the Declaration. Such comparisons only highlight their ignorance of the document’s true significance.
The placement of the Declaration alongside numerous patriotic emblems and portraits in the Oval Office underscores our nation’s triumph over monarchy. Yet, these detractors attempt to cast President Trump in the role of a monarch, missing the profound statement his actions make.
President Trump’s newly adorned Oval Office with portraits of past presidents, Supreme Court Justices, and the Declaration itself, all serve as reminders of America’s defiance against monarchy, an unyielding part of our national spirit.
The Trump Administration’s current mission echoes the sentiment of the Declaration: to “dissolve the political bands” that bind us to unelected bureaucrats and Deep State operatives. As patriots, we must revisit the Declaration’s Introduction and Preamble with reverence:
“When in the Course of human events it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature’s God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.

In his recent exclusive interview with Fox News host Laura Ingraham, President Trump showcased the original Declaration now gracing the Oval Office, explaining its protective midnight blue drapes shield it from harmful light.
These dramatic drapes, along with patriotic portraits, mark the first time in history the Declaration has been displayed in a President’s office.
“The Oval Office has never been like that. We’ve also taken a lot of great paintings out of the vault. Some of those paintings were in vaults and safes for a hundred years,” Trump remarked.
All adorned with gold accents, chosen by Trump, the paintings are a testament to America’s rich history.
“They are all gold. It’s angels. They say angels bring good luck. And we need a lot of luck in this country with what they’ve done over the last four years,” he added.
