John Bolton pleaded guilty Friday to unlawfully retaining classified information — and President Donald Trump wants him treated “harshly.”
Trump’s former national security adviser entered a guilty plea as part of a deal on one count of retaining classified information.
Trump didn’t hold back.
“John Bolton, a very dumb, unbalanced, and unskilled former representative of the United States of America, just pleads guilty!”
The president posted on Truth Social that Bolton is “a terrible person, a lunatic” who only wanted to start wars.
Trump accused Bolton of being “a needless pusher of death and destruction wherever he went.”
The president’s closing message was direct: “Hopefully, he will be dealt with harshly!”
Bolton served as Trump’s national security adviser during his first term before the two parted ways. The guilty plea marks a dramatic fall for a figure who once held one of the most sensitive positions in the administration.
