Obama’s Latest Attack On Trump Hilariously Backfires

Former President Barack Obama took the stage in Pittsburgh on Thursday night to chide African-American men about their antipathy for Vice President Kamala Harris, at one point making a sophomoric joke about former President Donald Trump that backfired in the moment.

In the midst of admonishing Black men for not supporting Harris nearly as much as they did his 2008 and 2012 campaigns, President Obama joined a member of the audience in mocking Trump for his age. The 44th president was pontificating on the price of home goods under Harris compared to Trump when an attendee threw him off-topic. “Car seats, or diapers. I remember buying diapers,” Obama said with a head scratch. “I remember the first time I went in the store, right after Malia was born. I was like what! That’s how much diapers cost? I remember changing diapers.” He asked the audience. “You think Donald Trump ever changed a diaper?” prompting laughs from the crowd.

“No! No chance!” some members yelled. “His own!” shouted another. With a toothy smile and a point of his finger, Obama shot back, “I almost said that! I but I decided I shouldn’t say it.” MSNBC carried the speech live, giving liberal viewers every opportunity to laugh along with Obama’s crude joke, but the internet was not nearly as forgiving.

The Western Journal compiled the best hits of X users who ripped the Democratic leader for his foul humor. “Obama would know about changing diapers. He does for Joe,” one viewer wrote. Plenty of others bit at the low-hanging fruit of 81-year-old President Joe Biden, who at times has literally had trouble sitting down.

One viewer ironically noted former First Lady Michelle Obama’s promise to “go high” when others go low. “They go low and we go low. Sad that a lot of adults do have to wear and change their own diapers. Really sad that Obama would stoop that low,” they wrote on X. Nor is this the first time President Obama has played for the cheap seats when taking shots at Trump. During the Democratic National Convention in August, he speculated about the size of Trump’s hands and his fascination with crowd sizes. Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) took it many steps further, telling the packed arena she wouldn’t trust Trump or Sen. J.D. Vance (R-OH) to “move my couch,” a reference to a deeply crude and false story about the running mate.
