Veteran communist Angela Davis just told America exactly what the far left has planned — and conservatives better be listening.
The 82-year-old Marxist revolutionary, speaking at a packed Brooklyn Public Library event, described the 2020 Black Lives Matter riots as a near-miss at regime change. The only reason it failed? Patriots fought back.
But Davis made clear: next time, the left will be ready to crush that resistance.
“We really could have seized the time. But if we didn’t do it in 2020, there may come another conjunction, and we need to be more prepared for that.”
For six decades, Davis has been a leading participant in attempts to overthrow what she openly calls “the American Way of Life.” She’s a former vice-presidential candidate for the Communist Party and a key influence on younger radicals — including the founders of Black Lives Matter, who drew direct inspiration from her.
In the May interview with Columbia Journalism School dean Jelani Cobb, Davis described the Trump era as a “counterrevolution” — a backlash against what she called the “powerful, progressive surge” of 2020.
“I ask people to remember what it felt like, only six years ago,” Davis told the audience. “At the time, I was thinking: this is what we’ve been waiting for, since the end of the Civil War.”
More people than ever in American history took to the streets during the George Floyd riots. Davis said masses of Americans — including many whites — were “stimulated by the possibility of real democracy” and “really ready to take that step.”
But what Davis means by “democracy” isn’t what most Americans think. She clarified later in the interview: “Unfortunately, democracy is often represented as only voting. But of course, it’s much broader than that. We can talk about economic democracy.”
Translation: seizing control of “the means of production” — classic Marxist revolution. “The revolution in relation to the organization of the means of production has not happened,” she said.
Why did 2020 fail? According to Davis, revolutionaries “hadn’t really taken into consideration what would be necessary in order to challenge the counter forces.” Conservatives mobilized faster than expected — electing Glenn Youngkin in Virginia in 2021, then Donald Trump in 2024.
“We had this offensive against education, this offensive against black studies or critical race theory, and we weren’t prepared,” Davis admitted. “We need to learn from that.”
Davis isn’t the only one signaling that another revolt is coming. Late last month, Manolo De Los Santos — leader of the violent Marxist group People’s Forum — called on radicals to take to the streets again.
“What happened in 2020 during the George Floyd uprising? Twenty, 30 million people were on the streets all across the country. The country was ungovernable,” De Los Santos, who trained in communist Cuba, told an audience.
“Trump went down in his bunker, because they really thought the end times were coming. It’s important for us to say this because when we make the formulation that we have to make a revolution, to change things, that we have to smash the state.”
De Los Santos is currently under investigation by Congress.
Davis herself has never hidden her totalitarian sympathies. Despite branding herself a “prison abolitionist,” she showed zero concern for anti-communist dissidents rotting in Soviet gulags. Harvard Law professor Alan Dershowitz once asked her to intercede for Jewish refuseniks imprisoned by the Soviets — leaders who regularly feted Davis.
Her reply, according to Dershowitz: “They are all Zionist fascists and opponents of socialism. Let them remain in prison.”
She said the same about Czech dissidents: “They deserve what they get.”
That would be the fate awaiting Americans who dared question the regime if socialists ever seized power here.
The old revolutionary’s message is clear: conservatives may think they’ve defeated DEI and CRT, but teachers and professors are simply renaming the programs and hiding them. The Smithsonian’s leaders openly defy Trump and dare Congress to act. And Marxist street organizers are preparing for the next uprising.
Davis summed it up plainly: “Everything still hangs in the balance.”
You thought the job was done in 2024? The left didn’t win in 2020 — but they haven’t given up. Real communists are telling us exactly what’s coming. Patriots better be ready.
🚨 Did The People’s Forum Call for Violent Revolution Last Night?
Last night at the People’s Forum, Manolo De Los Santos urged socialists to consider how dramatically the American public outnumbers the military and police, pointing to “the George Floyd uprising” as proof that a… pic.twitter.com/kAiGkSpqVH
