Next month’s highly anticipated presidential debate between Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump has found a host city.

The first of at least two presidential debates is set to take place on September 10 at the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia, ABC News announced Friday. “World News Tonight” anchor and managing editor David Muir and ABC News Live “Prime” anchor Linsey Davis will serve as moderators.

The National Constitution Center is located just a couple hundred yards away from Independence Hall, where the Declaration of Independence was signed. The museum hosts several artifacts and exhibits about the founding of the United States and the evolution of the republic.

It has been the site of several high-profile debates in the past, including a pivotal Democratic primary debate that pitted Hillary Clinton against then Senator Barack Obama. Both President Joe Biden and President Donald Trump also sat for town halls there in 2020.

ABC News previously announced that a number of requirements would need to be met in order for candidates to qualify, including polling thresholds and in appearing on enough state ballots to theoretically be able to secure 270 electoral votes in November. Independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy has not qualified for the debate.

Debate rules are still being worked out by the Trump and Harris camps, though details are excepted to be released in the coming days. The June debate between Trump and Biden was not filmed in front of a live audience and had a microphone muting feature for each candidate.

The ABC News debate has been the subject of controversy due to the longstanding relationship between Harris and a high-ranking executive for Disney, ABC’s parent company.

Dana Walden currently serves as co-chairman of Disney Entertainment, through which she oversees a number of the company’s television endeavors, including ABC News and ABC Entertainment. In recent years, she has made a number of donations to Kamala Harris’ various political campaigns, according to a report from the New York Times.

Walden first met Harris in 1994, while their husbands, Matt Walden and Doug Emhoff, have known each other since the 1980’s. Harris has described the ABC News director and her husband as “extraordinary friends” in the past.
