EU leaders in Ukraine
European leaders visit Ukraine amid escalating tensions.

As the Trump-brokered Peace Process between Russia and Ukraine makes headway, European leaders, specifically the UK’s Keir Starmer and France’s Emmanuel Macron, seem determined to complicate matters with their convoluted plans. Their talk of “boots on the ground” will go nowhere, as Moscow has clearly stated it will not entertain any proposal involving NATO ‘peacekeepers’ in Ukraine.

Today’s developments from Europe sent two contrasting signals: Is this strategic ambiguity or just a lack of common purpose? Globalist-European leaders mourn those lost in Kiev, yet no troops are offered, citing insufficient support from member states, logistical challenges, and opposition from key figures like Donald J. Trump and Vladimir Putin.

Diplomats now acknowledge that sending a military force is unlikely. Reuters shared insights from a European diplomat, revealing, “They are taking a step back from ground troops and trying to re-dimension what they were doing to something that could be more sensible.” Another diplomat noted, “When Ukraine was in a better position, the idea of sending troops appealed. But now, with the situation on the ground and the U.S administration as it is, it’s not very sexy.”

A high-ranking official from Kiev has stated that European troops must be prepared to fight if deployed as peacekeepers in any future Ukraine-Russia peace agreement. This underscores that the Volodymyr Zelensky regime views European military support more as an “escalation tool” than a deterrent.

According to The Telegraph, Igor Zhovkva, a top Ukrainian negotiator, emphasized, “We don’t need a mere presence to showcase that Europe is present. It’s not the amount which matters… it’s also their readiness to fight, their readiness to defend, their readiness to be equipped, and their readiness to understand that Ukraine is an inevitable part of European security.”

France’s Emmanuel Macron, never one to miss an opportunity to grandstand, stated that a hypothetical European force in Ukraine could “respond” to a Russian attack. The Associated Press reported Macron’s words: “If there was again a generalized aggression against Ukrainian soil, these armies would be under attack and then it’s our usual framework of engagement. Our soldiers, when they are engaged and deployed, are there to react and respond to the decisions of the commander in chief and, if they are in a conflict situation, to respond to it.”

Macron further clarified that proposed European forces wouldn’t be stationed on Ukraine’s frontlines, nor would they engage immediately with Russian forces. They are intended as a deterrent, marking clear support from European governments and allies. “We are not on the frontlines, we don’t go to fight, but we are there to guarantee a lasting peace. It’s a pacifist approach,” he assured. “The only ones who would, at that moment, trigger a conflict, a bellicose situation, would be the Russians if they decided again to launch an aggression.”
