Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff revealed that his wife, Kamala Harris, cursed him out and told him to “get back to work” when she received news that President Biden was suspending his candidacy.
During a recent interview with ESPN radio veteran Dan Le Batard, Emhoff explained that he was at a spin class when President Biden made the unprecedented decision to suspend his campaign on July 21, long after the Democratic Party primary process had concluded. After opting not to give an endorsement in his initial announcement, President Biden soon endorsed Vice President Harris in a follow-up post.

Biden’s announcement came after former President Barack Obama called for an open primary process, an idea that was reportedly endorsed by former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) and a handful of additional party leaders.
On Tuesday, Le Batard asked Emhoff about his reaction to the surprise announcement, which came a few weeks after Biden’s disastrous debate performance this past June. “You were busy in spin class, right?” the left-wing sports host asked.
“I was right. So it was I was in L.A. It was during that weekend when all the planes were down because of the software glitch. So I had to spend an extra day in L.A. I decided to go to a cycling class with some friends,” Emhoff explained.
“I had my phone in the Secret Service car, so I didn’t have my phone. And then my friend’s partner just showed me his phone with the letter from President Biden, and I’m like, ‘gotta go,’ and just ran into the car. And there was my phone. Literally, you could feel the steam, seven or eight messages, all with, you know’, where are you, call Kamala, call Kamala,’” he continued.
When he finally got in touch with his wife, the conversation lasted less than a minute. “And it was a one minute or less conversation which started with, ‘where the F were you? I need you right now.’ And basically ‘get to work.’ And I did,” Emhoff said.

Emhoff has been dealing with a number of his own scandals since his wife became the de-facto Democratic Party nominee. A report from the Daily Mail previously revealed that Emhoff had an extramarital affair with the nanny of he and his ex wife’s child. Emhoff later admitted to the allegations and said he has worked to “move past” them.
According to the report from the Daily Mail, the nanny, Najen Naylor, did not deny the report when asked for comment. In addition to being the couple’s nanny, Taylor was a teacher at Emhoff’s school.
A “close friend with knowledge of the pregnancy” told the outlet that Naylor did not keep the child.
Emhoff and his wife Kerstin separated in 2009 after the affair was discovered. Sources told the Daily Mail that Naylor had to leave her job as a teacher at The Willows, an elite private elementary school in Culver City, California. She had been teaching the Emhoff children and moonlighting as a nanny for the couple.
In a separate report from the Daily Mail, three sources accused Emhoff of violently slapping his ex-girlfriend in a public place. A spokesman for Emhoff denied the allegations, stating that “any suggestion that he would or has ever hit a woman is false.”
