Vice President JD Vance delivered one of the most fired-up speeches of the GOP Midterm Convention in Dallas Thursday, telling Democrats to back off America’s children and slamming the party as radicals bent on destroying the family.
“To the radicals who wish to abolish my family, and the thousands and millions of other families all across our country, we have a simple message for them: ‘STAY THE HELL AWAY FROM OUR KIDS,'” Vance exclaimed to a roaring crowd at the historic two-day convention.

The vice president framed the 2024 election as a turning point when Americans refused to accept being silenced anymore.
“We were tired of being called RACIST for noticing that our country was becoming dirtier and poor and less safe and less prosperous. By the end of 2024 you were tired. We were tired as a country, but you were not defeated,” Vance said.
He credited that exhaustion-turned-defiance with sending Trump back to the White House.
“So, all of us came together on November the 5th and we sent the toughest SOB in American politics back to the White House and we made Donald J Trump the 47th president of the United States!” Vance said.
The VP also torched a protester waving a Mexican flag in the crowd.
“Well, my friend, if you love Mexico so much, GET YOUR ASS OVER THERE! I’ll buy you the plane ticket!” Vance told the man, drawing massive applause.
Vance called the Democrat party “the party of hatred” and said beating them in November is critical to protecting families and faith.
“I want our children to grow up in a country that doesn’t roll its eyes at people who PRAY — but remembers that this country itself was an answer to prayer 250 years ago,” he told the massive Day 2 crowd.
Vance explained his wife, Usha, skipped the trip because she’s caring for their four kids at home — the couple just welcomed a new baby in July.
Trump Returns, Touts Second-Term Wins
President Trump returned to the stage for the second night in a row, greeted again by Lee Greenwood singing “Proud to be an American.”
Trump said Democrats “are getting nervous” because the midterm convention turnout was massive — “this place is packed.”
After his nearly two-hour speech Wednesday, the president promised he’d “be brief” Thursday.
Trump rattled off his accomplishments in his second term: major tax cuts, closing the border, reducing crime, slashing prescription drug prices, increasing job numbers, getting rid of DEI mandates, and fighting trans ideology.
Democrats, he said, would work to undo every good thing he’s done.
The president vowed to pass the Save America Act to ensure election integrity and gave Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton a major endorsement for his Senate race against far-left Democrat James Talerico, calling Paxton the greatest attorney general in Texas history.
Trump asked the crowd to vow to vote in November and “reject the communist lunatics.”
GOP Heavyweights Hammer Woke Democrats
Baptist Pastor Robert Jeffress opened Day 2 by eviscerating Talerico, the woke Texas Democrat running against Paxton.
“The beliefs of James Talarico are certainly wrong, but they’re more than wrong. The beliefs of James Talarico are blasphemous. They are evil. And they are not beliefs that any true Christian can support,” Jeffress preached.
Jeffress called the Democratic party itself evil.
“The Democrats are advocates for evil,” Jeffress said. “They are advocates for sin.”
Texas Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick denounced Democrat-run states as failures and warned of the left’s agenda.
“Make no mistake, Democrat communists and socialists are coming after everything you have and everything you and your family will ever have,” Patrick said.
Senator Ted Cruz blasted today’s Democrats as “a combination of communists and Islamists.”
“They hate Christians, they hate Jews, they hate the Constitution and they hate America,” Cruz said.
“Sharia Law is fundamentally inconsistent with the Constitution and we need to stop it now.”
Cruz received a loud ovation when he said Sharia Law “has no place in America.”
Texas Governor Greg Abbott framed the November midterms as a battle to “demolish the Democrats” and defend Texas’ economic future.
Abbott announced he designated the Muslim Brotherhood and CAIR as foreign terrorist organizations.
“We are not waiting on Washington D.C.—we will fully ban Sharia Law in Texas,” Abbott declared.
Abbott cast Talerico as “Bernie Sanders socialism” trying to take over Texas and urged Republicans to “keep Texas, Texas.”
RFK Jr.: Democrats Abandoned Their Values
Health and Human Services Secretary Robert Kennedy Jr. opened with a quip about his political journey.
“I’m 72. For 70 years of my life, I would have bet any amount of money that I would not be addressing a Republican convention,” Kennedy said.
He credited the Trump-era GOP with embracing the values his father and uncle championed.
“I grew up in a Democratic Party of FDR, my uncle John Kennedy, my father Robert Kennedy…clear policies and inspiring idealistic vision for America. Tax cuts, strong defense and FIGHTING communism,” Kennedy said. “DOES THAT SOUND FAMILIAR?”
Kennedy lambasted the Biden administration’s covid response, saying Democrats violated constitutional rights.
“The party of ‘my body my choice’ forced citizens to wear masks and to submit to invasive and intrusive medical interventions against their own wills,” he said.
“Democrats obliterated the second leg of the First Amendment: the guaranteed right of assembly, by social distancing regulations that were completely unscienced based.”
“Democrats violated the third leg of the First Amendment: the freedom to worship. They closed every church in our country for a year. Who could imagine that would ever happen?” RFK Jr. said.
Kennedy said he realized “many of the foundational values of the Democrat Party had found a new home and it was called the Republican Party,” sparking USA chants.
He said Democrats have abandoned all their values and only stand for “unbridled, sociopathic and blind hatred” of Trump.
Dallas Mayor Eric Johnson, another former Democrat who flipped parties in 2023, welcomed convention goers to “the biggest city in America with a Republican mayor.”
Johnson took shots at Democrat mayors in Seattle, Chicago and New York City, saying “everytime these extreme socialist Democrats grab power, we get a raw deal.”
House Speaker Mike Johnson joked that Trump could run for the House after his second term, reminding the crowd that John Quincy Adams served in Congress after his presidency.
“Maybe our current president would do that,” Johnson said, before adding Trump might “be too busy.”
Former White House deputy communications director Alex Pfeiffer told American Greatness the GOP message is resonating.
“We are going to retain and grow our majorities in the House and Senate,” Pfeiffer said. “Just look at the message at our convention, we’re for lower taxes and Democrats want to put their hands in your pocket to fund healthcare for illegals.”
The two-day Trump-a-palooza featured speeches from top Republicans including Donald Trump Jr., former White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, and dozens of GOP congressional candidates ahead of the critical November midterms.
