WATCH: Pilot Draws ‘USA 250TH’ Over Heartland in Epic 6-Hour Flight

A single-engine Cessna pilot stunned aviation watchers Saturday morning when his six-hour flight path revealed a massive tribute to America’s 250th birthday—spelling out “USA 250TH” inside the geographic outline of the United States over the American Heartland.

The complex aerial masterpiece unfolded over Ohio as the Cessna Skylane RG carved block letters, numbers, and national borders into the sky.

According to the aviation news network AirLive, the pilot departed Norwalk Huron County Airport at exactly 6:00 AM EDT, climbing to 10,000 feet to execute what the outlet called “an incredibly complex pre-planned GPS flight path.”

“The aircraft behind the aerial masterpiece is a Cessna Skylane RG (Retractable Gear), bearing the registration N4936T. The pilot departed from Ohio’s Norwalk Huron County Airport at exactly 6:00 AM EDT, taking advantage of the smooth, calm morning air.”

The flight ended around noon after what AirLive described as “a grueling six hours” in the air.

The pilot executed the drawing in three distinct phases: first carving out the block letters “USA,” then heading south to spell out “250th,” and finally drawing the country’s border to frame the entire tribute.

The stunt required precise fuel management. The Cessna 182 holds about 85 gallons of fuel and consumes 11 to 14 gallons per hour—pushing the aircraft to its flying limits over six hours.

FAA records show the plane is owned by Dakma LLC, an aviation company in Parma, Ohio. But the pilot’s identity remained a mystery as of Saturday afternoon as the flight path went viral.

While aviation enthusiasts celebrated the patriotic display, woke trolls on X couldn’t resist attacking the feat.

“What a waste of gas,” one killjoy wrote.

Another complained: “What an interesting choice, considering the ecological impact jet fuel has on the environment and the rising temperatures globally, not to mention the economic costs. To say this is tone deaf is a gross understatement…”

But patriots had the better response.

“Damn that’s cool,” one X user wrote—short, to the point, and exactly right.
