FIFA has reportedly given President Trump the green light to present the World Cup trophy to the winning team’s captain at the final on July 19 at MetLife Stadium.
According to talkSPORT, FIFA doesn’t have a problem with Trump handing out the trophy — and the organization reportedly doesn’t mind if the president stays on stage with the players during the post-trophy celebration.
FIFA has reportedly given President Trump the green light to present the World Cup trophy to the winning team’s captain at the final on July 19 at MetLife Stadium.
Trump has previous experience in the FIFA trophy-presentation department. At the FIFA Club World Cup final in 2025, he handed the trophy to Chelsea captain Reece James after the club defeated Paris Saint-Germain 3-0.
During that celebration, Trump remained on stage while James raised the trophy — standing, clapping, and smiling as the players jumped and celebrated around him.
