Victor Wembanyama had objects thrown at him outside the San Antonio Spurs’ Manhattan hotel late Wednesday night — just hours after his team collapsed in Game 4 of the NBA Finals.

The Spurs were greeted by thousands of unruly Knicks fans as they arrived at their Midtown hotel following New York’s historic 29-point comeback win. Fans held up phones recording the players stepping off the team bus, shouted obscenities, and chanted “Knicks in five.”

Then things turned dangerous.

As Wembanyama took a few steps off the bus with his back turned toward the crowd, two objects were thrown at him. The first item didn’t get his attention, but the second shattered against a street pole inches from the Spurs’ superstar.

The second item directed at Wembanyama could be seen shattering against the street pole inches away from the big man.

According to the New York Post, no arrests have been made around the Spurs’ team hotel as of early Thursday morning.

Knicks fans have been violent following each of the two NBA Finals games held in New York City. Arrests were made outside an official watch party after major brawls broke out following the Knicks’ Game 3 loss earlier in the week.

The Spurs dominated the first half of Wednesday’s contest, leading 76-49 at halftime. The Knicks cut the lead to 15 entering the fourth quarter, but the clock seemed against them.

What unfolded next will go down as one of the greatest comebacks in championship history.

The Knicks outscored the Spurs 32-16 in the final frame to win 107-106. OG Anunoby tipped in the game-winner with under two seconds left in regulation, and the roof virtually blew off Madison Square Garden.

The series went from potentially being tied 2-2 to a commanding 3-1 Knicks lead. New York officially feels like a team of destiny.
