Biden’s Chief of Staffs, Ron Klain and Jeff Zients, both with significant ties to the Obama administration, were possibly the ones holding the reins. Other unelected staff members and even family members like Hunter and Jill Biden could also have been influencing the administration’s direction without Biden’s direct input.
Biden’s mental acuity was so in question that, in an incident last January, he expressed confusion to Speaker Mike Johnson about having signed an executive order related to natural gas sales. This raises the question: Was Biden truly making these decisions, or was he unknowingly being used as a figurehead?
