The Department of Homeland Security is charging four foreign nationals who illegally voted in American elections over the last six years โ€” the first federal enforcement action since New Jersey Gov. Mikie Sherrill admitted a “software error” let thousands of non-citizens register to vote.

The cases, obtained exclusively by Breitbart News, mark a turning point in the Trump administration’s crackdown on election integrity.

Four foreign nationals now face federal charges for casting ballots they had no legal right to touch.

“These aliens illegally voted in American elections. New Jersey Governor Mikie Sherrill confirmed thousands of non-citizens are registered to vote in New Jersey. We need the SAVE America Act to ensure only Americans elect American leaders.”

DHS spokesperson Lauren Bis didn’t mince words.

The charged individuals span three continents and voted in multiple election cycles โ€” 2020, 2022, and 2024 โ€” before federal investigators caught up with them.

Idan Choresh, a 43-year-old Israeli national, voted in the 2022 election despite holding only a green card. He arrived in the U.S. in January 2001, received permanent residency in July 2020, and didn’t apply for citizenship until May 2025 โ€” three years after casting an illegal ballot. Choresh now faces charges of voting by an alien in a federal election, making false statements to naturalize, and unlawful procurement of citizenship.

Jacenth Emelyn Beadle Exum, a 70-year-old Jamaican national, voted in the 2020 election before naturalizing in August 2022. Federal prosecutors charged her with making false statements during the naturalization process. Exum entered the U.S. in July 2000 and received her green card four years later.

David Gboty Neewilly, 73, from Liberia, voted in both the 2020 and 2024 elections while holding green-card status. He arrived in July 1998, didn’t get permanent residency until June 2014, and applied for citizenship in May 2025 โ€” after voting twice as a non-citizen. He’s charged with voting by an alien in a federal election and making false statements to naturalize.

Abhinandan Vig, a 33-year-old Indian national, voted in the 2020 election and now faces charges of unlawful procurement of citizenship. Vig arrived in June 2012 and applied for naturalization in March 2024.

Earlier this month, Gov. Sherrill confirmed that a so-called “software error” allowed thousands of foreign nationals to register to vote in New Jersey, with hundreds casting ballots in elections since 2023.

The White House released documents this month showing that more than 250,000 foreign nationals are illegally registered to vote across New Jersey, California, Pennsylvania, and Nevada alone.

The charges remain allegations. The cases have not been proven in court.

DHS officials say the investigations are ongoing โ€” and these four cases are just the beginning.
