President Donald Trump will deliver a primetime address to the nation Thursday night, announcing what he calls “really big news” about the 2020 election — focusing on voting machine security, foreign interference, and newly declassified intelligence.
“It’s really, really big news,” Trump told reporters in the Oval Office Tuesday.
“IT DOESN’T GET BIGGER, BECAUSE WITHOUT FREE AND FAIR ELECTIONS, YOU DON’T HAVE A COUNTRY.”
The address comes as the Department of Justice has spent the past year aggressively investigating alleged election fraud in several swing states, including Georgia and Arizona.
The FBI raided the Fulton County election hub building in January and seized over 600 boxes of 2020 election records.
The Justice Department served a grand jury subpoena to Fulton County in April requesting contact information of all workers who participated in the 2020 election, suggesting prosecutors were lining up witnesses to testify.
A federal judge recently quashed the subpoena, stating that “an investigation of alleged criminal conduct of anyone that may have led to the certification of the 2020 Election in Georgia would not be a legitimate use of the Grand Jury and its subpoena power.”
Earlier this year, the Justice Department also moved to obtain past election records from Michigan and Arizona.
A federal grand jury issued a subpoena to Arizona Senate President Warren Petersen in March, seeking materials tied to the Cyber Ninjas audit of the 2020 election — including ballot images, absentee envelopes, vote tallies, hard drives, videos, and documents from the review.
According to investigative reporter Paul Sperry, Trump will announce that China interfered in the 2020 election to help Joe Biden win, including allegedly hacking into state voter registration databases and stealing information on tens of thousands of voters to manufacture mail-in ballots for Biden.
The Trump administration will release declassified documents on Friday, detailing “alarming vulnerabilities” in the nation’s election infrastructure, Sperry reported on X Thursday.
Four sets of documents were recently unearthed from FBI, CIA and ODNI records.
“I’M TOLD FORTHCOMING DECLASSIFIED DOCS WILL PROVE FOREIGN PENETRATION OF 2020 ELECTION WAS DEEPER THAN ANYTHING THE RUSSIANS WERE ALLEGED TO HAVE DONE IN 2016.”
Last month, FBI Director Kash Patel announced that he had located and declassified a trove of documents related to potential election fraud during the 2020 election, “including allegations of interference by the CCP” — the Chinese Communist Party.
The buried intelligence amounts to a “massive cover-up of Beijing’s hacking capabilities and influence operations aimed at supporting Biden,” Sperry said.
White House chief of staff Susie Wiles said back in May that she believes “we’re going to find out” President Trump actually won many of the swing states he supposedly lost to Biden in 2020.
During her White House press briefing, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt told reporters that Trump’s speech will “shock” some, but the “American people will be relieved to hear what they hear from Trump tonight on elections.”
Trump is also expected to discuss why the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility Act, better known as the SAVE Act, is needed to prevent non-citizens from illegally voting in US elections.
The president will address the nation at 9 p.m. ET Thursday.
