Tarantino Calls Modern Hollywood a ‘Flavorless Sausage Factory’ Releasing ‘Plain Stupid Sh*t’

Quentin Tarantino torched modern Hollywood in a blistering magazine essay, declaring it’s “almost impossible” for him to watch today’s films without tearing them apart.

The Oscar-winning director didn’t mince words when describing what passes for cinema these days.

“Flaws, implausibilities, audience pandering, miscast performers or just plain stupid shit usually torpedoes every new movie coming out of the flavorless sausage factory that used to call itself Hollywood.”

The “Pulp Fiction” legend made the remarks in Sight and Sound magazine, according to Variety.

Tarantino went further, saying the entire concept of what qualifies as a movie today inspires more “contempt” than generosity in him.

“Which is fair enough, because by comparison the movies of the last six years make the 80s seem like the 30s,” he said.

The director singled out only a handful of recent films worth watching: Steven Spielberg’s “West Side Story” remake in 2021, Kevin Costner’s “Horizon: An American Saga” Chapters 1 and 2 in 2024, and Joe Carnahan’s “The Rip” starring Ben Affleck and Matt Damon.

But none of them captured the magic he once found at the movies.

“These days I’d rather read a book.”

Tarantino — who directed cult classics “Django,” “Inglourious Basterds,” and “Pulp Fiction” — is currently working on a play titled “The Popinjay Cavalier” set to premiere in 2027.

He’s promised fans a tenth and final feature film but has offered no timeline for when the project will materialize.
