The story of illegal alien Kilmar Abrego Garcia, currently facing deportation and imprisonment, has captured widespread attention. Recently, Democrat Senator Chris Van Hollen made headlines by traveling all the way to El Salvador to advocate for the release of this alleged MS-13 member.
According to reports:
Democrat Senator Chris Van Hollen (MD) flew all the way to El Salvador for a photo op in his fight to smuggle deported MS-13 gang member Kilmar Abrego Garcia back to the US.
Senator Van Hollen stated, “I just landed in San Salvador a little while ago, and I look forward to meeting with the team at the U.S. embassy to discuss the release of Mr. Abrego Garcia.” He added, “I also hope to meet with Salvadoran officials and with Kilmar himself. He was illegally abducted and needs to come home.”
It’s important to clarify—Kilmar Abrego Garcia is in his home country of El Salvador. However, Senator Van Hollen’s mission seems to be focused on bringing him back across the U.S. border.
Kilmar Abrego Garcia, originally from El Salvador, was living in Maryland illegally. In 2019, an immigration judge ordered the removal of Abrego Garcia, who is suspected of being connected with the notorious MS-13 gang. Currently, he is detained in El Salvador’s infamous CECOT prison.
Senator Chris Van Hollen’s efforts in El Salvador were met with resistance, as he was reportedly rejected by the Vice President of the country.
One might ask, where was this fervor when American citizens were tragically killed by illegal aliens? It seems that some in Congress are more willing to go to great lengths to bring illegal aliens, even those alleged to be part of foreign terrorist organizations, into the U.S., rather than focusing on the safety of American citizens.
