Once again, New York’s far-left Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is grabbing headlines with her so-called ‘fight oligarchy’ tour alongside Bernie Sanders, this time making a stop in Idaho. However, it’s not just their anti-oligarchy rhetoric that’s catching attention.
Patriots on social media are pointing out how AOC seems to be borrowing a page from Kamala Harris and Hillary Clinton’s playbook by changing her accent depending on her audience. A practice also seen in Obama’s playbook, it seems to have become a popular maneuver among Democrats.
Many find AOC’s attempts especially transparent. Here’s what FOX News reported:
Social media erupts after AOC debuts another ‘strange’ accent at rally: ‘Kamala’s playbook’
This week, conservative voices on social media targeted Rep. Ocasio-Cortez, accusing her of faking an accent during her rally in Nampa, Idaho. Teaming up with Bernie Sanders, who aligns with Democrats, AOC drew over 12,000 people. However, it was a specific video clip where she was accused of altering her speech that fired up conservatives.
Conservative influencer, Gunther Eagleman, highlighted this with his post on X:
Oh look, AOC is doing the interchangeable accents to fit the demographic she’s in front of. Did she take notes from Kamala? pic.twitter.com/0wfhWoVUOB

Benny Johnson, another influential conservative, chimed in:
Kamala Harris just introduced yet another new accent. Sike, this is AOC. Seems to be using Kamala’s playbook. I guess she didn’t pay attention during the 2024 election. pic.twitter.com/0pfzeB5DMz

AOC is pretending to have some sort of strange accent. This is exactly what Kamala Harris did on the campaign trail. Why do they do this? pic.twitter.com/lXpOClW1rh

Critics argue that AOC’s public persona is all an act. Some even suggest that her initial campaign success was due to an audition process for the ‘Justice Democrats’, who supported her run. Since taking office, her focus seems to have shifted more towards elevating her own profile rather than delivering results for her constituents.
