The wife of Weezer bassist Scott Shriner, Jillian Shriner, faced a dramatic encounter with the Los Angeles Police Department, resulting in her being shot and arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. This incident unfolded on Tuesday afternoon in the Eagle Rock neighborhood of Los Angeles, capturing the attention of the nation.

The officers were on the hunt for a hit-and-run suspect when they unexpectedly encountered Shriner in a neighboring yard, reportedly armed with a handgun. The LAPD promptly issued a press release detailing the sequence of events, stating, “As the officers were in the rear yard of that residence, they observed a female, later identified as 51-year-old Jillian Shriner, in the yard of a neighboring residence armed with a handgun. The officers ordered Shriner to drop the handgun numerous times; however, she refused. Shriner then pointed the handgun at the officers, and an Officer-Involved Shooting occurred.”

After being struck by gunfire, Shriner retreated into her home but later emerged and was apprehended. Paramedics from the Los Angeles Fire Department transported her to a local hospital, where she received treatment for her injuries, which were fortunately not life-threatening.

Thankfully, no officers or other civilians were hurt in this incident. Shriner has since been released on a $1 million bond and is due back in court on April 30. Meanwhile, Weezer is set to perform at the Coachella Music Festival on Saturday, an event fans are eagerly anticipating.
