CNN’s Senior Data Reporter, Harry Enten, has delivered stirring news that’s sure to invigorate patriots across the nation. As detractors attempt to paint President Trump as a “king,” a fresh poll reveals a majority of Americans disagree. In fact, they see Trump as a “soaring eagle,” not a “lame duck.”
Harry Enten: I think there was this concern among some folks that Donald Trump would come in for a second term and be a lame duck. He ain’t no lame duck. If anything, he’s a soaring eagle.
The numbers say it all: Trump has already signed an extraordinary 111 executive orders in 2025. This surpasses any single year’s total since Harry S. Truman’s era in the early 1950s. Whether you support Trump or not, one cannot deny his commitment to fulfilling promises made on the campaign trail, doing so in historic fashion.
Kate Bolduan: How are people reacting to and feel about Trump’s approach?
Harry Enten: Trump’s approach to presidential power is distinct. An impressive 86% of Americans recognize that his way of leading is unlike any past president. This includes at least 79% across Democrats, Independents, and Republicans. Trump is doing it “my way,” as the Frank Sinatra quote goes, and he’s maintaining this approach in his second term.
Kate Bolduan: Do people think he has too much power?
Harry Enten: This is indeed the pivotal question. While 47% suggest Trump wields too much power, a combined 53% believe his power is either the right amount or even too little. The notion that Trump is a king doesn’t hold for the majority of Americans. His actions and executive orders underscore that he’s anything but a lame duck. As I emphasized, he’s a soaring eagle.
