President Donald Trump has delivered a firm ultimatum to China’s Communist regime: retract your newly announced 34% retaliatory tariff on American goods by tomorrow, or brace for a substantial 50% tariff hike from the United States.
This comes in response to President Trump’s decisive action last week to implement reciprocal tariffs on Chinese imports—a move long-anticipated by countless American workers. It’s high time someone stood up to China’s economic bullying.
However, instead of acknowledging that their free ride at America’s expense is over, the CCP is once again resorting to its old tricks of deceit and economic aggression.
President Trump declared a 34% tariff on Chinese imports last week, aiming to counteract China’s hefty 67% trade barrier.
Communist China’s Ministry of Finance, in a translated piece of propaganda, accused the U.S. of “unilateral bullying” and claimed that the tariffs “undermine global economic development.”
Let’s not forget China’s notorious history with currency manipulation, forced labor, and other tactics that have undermined American industry for decades.
China’s retaliatory tariff of 34% on American imports is set to kick in at 12:01 AM on April 10, 2025. But President Trump is not backing down.
On Truth Social, Trump previously stated: “CHINA PLAYED IT WRONG, THEY PANICKED — THE ONE THING THEY CANNOT AFFORD TO DO!”
He further elaborated, “China has been hit much harder than the USA, not even close. They, and many other nations, have treated us unsustainably badly. We have been the dumb and helpless ‘whipping post,’ but not any longer. We are bringing back jobs and businesses like never before. Already, more than FIVE TRILLION DOLLARS OF INVESTMENT, and rising fast! THIS IS AN ECONOMIC REVOLUTION, AND WE WILL WIN. HANG TOUGH, it won’t be easy, but the end result will be historic. We will, MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!!!”
In a robust statement on Monday via Truth Social, Trump laid down the law: if China doesn’t retract by April 8, a new 50% U.S. tariff will be implemented on Chinese goods by April 9—no deals, no delays.
Trump wrote:
“Yesterday, China issued Retaliatory Tariffs of 34%, on top of their already record setting Tariffs, Non-Monetary Tariffs, Illegal Subsidization of companies, and massive long term Currency Manipulation…
Therefore, if China does not withdraw its 34% increase above their already long term trading abuses by tomorrow, April 8th, 2025, the United States will impose ADDITIONAL Tariffs on China of 50%, effective April 9th.
Additionally, all talks with China concerning their requested meetings with us will be terminated! Negotiations with other countries, which have also requested meetings, will begin taking place immediately.”
