Patriots, take note: Texas Governor Greg Abbott is raising the alarm about a proposed Islamic “mega-city” set to sprout near Dallas. This ambitious project, spearheaded by the East Plano Islamic Center through their affiliate Community Capitol Partners, plans to develop a vast 1,000-home settlement just 40 minutes outside of Dallas.
The proposed “Sharia City” aims to feature a mosque, Islamic schools, a community college, and sporting amenities—highlighting the growing presence of Islam in America and beyond. However, Community Capital Partners insists their aim is simply to construct a harmonious community for all.
“The vision for EPIC City is simple. We want to build a master-planned, inclusive, family-oriented community that benefits the people who live and work there, and the surrounding area,” declared Imran Chaudhary, president of Community Capital Partners.
On Monday, Governor Abbott’s office made a significant announcement, stating that he has “directed the Texas Rangers to open an investigation” into the activities of the East Plano Islamic Center and its affiliates due to “potential criminal activities.”
“The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality found that the group behind the proposed EPIC compound did not submit the required permits to begin construction,” Abbott emphasized.
“They must confirm within seven days that they are immediately ceasing any construction of their illegal project or face the full weight of the law.”
The message is clear: “The state of Texas will enforce its laws and protect our communities from unlawful actions or threats posed by EPIC or its affiliates.”
And Sharia law is outlawed in Texas under a law I signed in 2017.

Abbott further revealed that a dozen state agencies, including the Texas Workforce Commission, the Texas State Securities Board, the Texas Funeral Service Commission, and the office of Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, are investigating the proposed project for possible legal infractions.
In response, the developers have enlisted the services of Dan Cogdell, a well-known Houston attorney who previously represented Ken Paxton during his impeachment trial, to manage their legal defense.
“EPIC City is a thoughtful community designed for families, just like hundreds of others in Texas,” Cogdell stated.
“The only reason it is being unfairly targeted is because there is a mosque in the plans instead of a church or a temple. That’s it.”
Cogdell concluded, “This is fear-mongering and political theater, and we intend to shut it down with the truth.”
