It is high time we call the criminals of Tren de Aragua for what they truly are: a brutal gang that should never have the chance to inflict harm upon Americans on American soil. Yet, CBS News chose to distort this reality, using St. Patrick’s Day as an opportunity to draw inappropriate parallels between these violent gang members and Irish immigrants.

This perspective was presented by CBS anchors John Dickerson and Maurice DuBois, who made the following statements:

John Dickerson: On this St. Patrick’s Day, as millions of Americans celebrate their Irish heritage, recent events remind us that the Irish were among the first immigrants to be targeted in deportation crackdowns.

Maurice DuBois: In the mid-1800s, New York and Massachusetts enforced policies to have Irish immigrants rounded up and deported.

John Dickerson: The American Civil Liberties Union didn’t exist then, but if it had, it may have taken the legal position it is taking now, suing the Trump administration to stop what it considers to be the illegal deportation over the weekend of more than 200 migrants to El Salvador.

Watch:

Remember 22-year-old Laken Riley, a University of Georgia student, who was tragically murdered by Jose Ibarra, a 26-year-old illegal immigrant from Venezuela and an alleged member of the Tren de Aragua?

And the horrifying case of the two illegal immigrants accused of the rape and murder of 12-year-old Jocelyn Nungaray? They, too, are suspected to have ties to this notorious gang.

In a December operation, the police arrested 14 individuals from an Aurora, Colorado apartment complex overtaken by Tren de Aragua, where residents were found tortured, tied up, and stabbed.

Yet, in the twisted narrative of CBS, Irish Americans are likened to criminal gang members who infiltrate our borders intending to spread terror across American communities. This is not just a distortion; it’s an affront to every law-abiding citizen and immigrant who cherishes the American dream and values. Let us not forget who the real heroes are in maintaining the safety and security of our nation.
