In a bold and decisive move, ICE has apprehended Manuel Tellez, a convicted killer and Mexican national, from the streets of Dallas for removal from our great nation. Tellez, who previously pled guilty to the horrific stabbing and burning of a Dallas man, had been roaming free under the Biden administration’s watch.

Tellez, 48, owns a bakery in the Oak Cliff area of Dallas and was initially charged with murder for the 2022 killing of 52-year-old Anthony Moreno. Despite the severity of his crime, Tellez managed to avoid prison time, receiving eight years of deferred adjudication probation instead, a concerning decision by the current administration.

It appears the Biden team showed little interest in deporting this dangerous individual, leaving him free to continue his life as if nothing had happened. However, true to form, ICE stepped in to rectify this situation.

The Dallas Observer provided background on the case:

Moreno’s body was discovered not far from Tellez’s bakery, bearing the marks of multiple stab wounds and having been set ablaze. The previous evening, Moreno had been spotted at the bakery, featured in an Instagram Live segment with Tellez. The motive? A tangled romantic interest, investigators suggest.

Detailed records reveal Tellez’s sinister actions caught on security cameras, showing him returning to the scene with gasoline to set Moreno’s body on fire, effectively confirming Moreno’s identity only after thorough investigation.

In June 2023, Tellez took a plea deal for manslaughter, dodging a jury trial and any prison time. The local news outlet, WFAA-TV, detailed the surveillance footage that caught Tellez in the act:

Surveillance video vividly captured the crime scene from a neighbor’s backyard, showing the blaze consuming Moreno’s body. Tellez’s behavior, including the purchase of gasoline and wearing distinctive gloves, was caught clearly on video, aligning with the police timeline of the crime.

This glaring oversight by the Biden administration to deport Tellez until now was addressed when ICE issued a determined press release, stating:

“This is an egregious offender,” affirmed Josh Johnson, ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations Dallas acting Field Office Director. “We are grateful for our federal partners within the Justice Department and U.S. Customs and Border Protection for helping us remove this high priority target from our communities.”

ICE’s collaboration with the FBI and CBP led to Tellez’s removal, highlighting the commitment to ensuring the safety of American communities. Tellez remains in custody, awaiting immigration removal proceedings. This is a victory for law and order, ensuring our nation’s safety takes precedence over political negligence.
