In a riveting turn of events, Sam Bankman-Fried, the notorious crypto fraudster now serving a 25-year sentence, sat down for an exclusive interview with none other than Tucker Carlson. Speaking from behind bars, Bankman-Fried described his prison experience as “kind of dystopian” while assuring that he remains safe physically.
During the interview, Carlson inquired about Bankman-Fried’s interactions with fellow inmate Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, who faces charges of sex trafficking. When asked if he had made friends, Bankman-Fried revealed, “He is… he’s been kind. I’ve made some friends; it’s a weird environment.” He continued to detail the unique atmosphere, stating, “It’s a combination of a few other high-profile cases and a lot of alleged ex-gangsters.”
Bankman-Fried offered insight into his relationship with Combs, noting, “I’ve only seen one piece of him, which is Diddy in prison. He’s been kind to people in the unit, he’s been kind to me.” He reflected on the prison’s impact, adding, “It’s kind of a soul-crushing place for the world in general and what we see are just the people that are around us on the inside rather than who we are on the outside.”
Sam Bankman-Fried is doing 25 years behind bars, and is now sharing a cell block with Diddy. He joins us from prison for an update on his new life.

Despite his past support for Democrats, Bankman-Fried expressed disillusionment with President Biden’s administration. “In 2020, I was center-left and I gave to Biden’s campaign, I was optimistic he would be a center-left president,” he admitted. However, his experiences in Washington left him “really really shocked by what I saw there… and not in a good direction.” By late 2022, he was channeling support to Republicans as well.
Adding another layer to this intriguing saga, it’s been reported that Bankman-Fried’s parents are seeking a presidential pardon from Donald Trump, following his clemency for Silk Road’s Ross Ulbricht. Joseph Bankman and Barbara Fried have reportedly engaged in discussions with legal experts and Trump allies to secure this pardon.
