President Trump Delivers Address to Joint Session of Congress

Tonight, President Trump is set to deliver an impactful speech to members of Congress at the National Republican Congressional Committee’s fundraising dinner. This significant event underscores the Republicans’ resolve to maintain control of both the House and the Senate as the pivotal 2026 midterm elections approach.

Reports indicate that this dinner is anticipated to generate at least $10 million for the House Republicans’ campaign efforts. Both parties are already gearing up for the elections next November, which will be crucial in determining the future direction of the Trump Administration and our beloved nation.

According to Fox News:

Asked what concerns him the most when it comes to defending the House majority, NRCC chair Rep. Richard Hudson said in a Fox News Digital interview on Monday that “Democrats have a structural advantage when it comes to fundraising. They always seem to have just mountains of money. So I think the amount of money the Democrats raise is probably the only thing that really concerns me.”

Rep. Richard Hudson, a stalwart Republican from North Carolina and a 12-year veteran of the House, emphasized that, “the President understands that he’s got to keep the House majority in the midterm so that he has a four-year runway, instead of a two-year runway to get his agenda enacted.”

Highlighting the opposition, Hudson remarked, “Speaker Hakeem Jeffries would fight President Trump on every front, and it would be really difficult for him to achieve his agenda. President Trump understands it’s important to hold the House and he’s, he’s been extremely helpful to us and we appreciate it.”

Just hours before President Trump’s appearance at the NRCC fundraiser, the House Democrats’ campaign arm targeted nearly three dozen Republican-held seats, aiming to reclaim the majority. The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) unveiled its initial 2026 target list, identifying 35 GOP-controlled seats and launching fundraising efforts to support their nominees in these districts.

Tonight, during his speech, President Trump is expected to urge Congress members to pass legislation that codifies his agenda and executive orders, bolstering his policies against activist judges and a potential Democratic majority in 2027.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, in a press briefing earlier, stated that President Trump is “counting on” House Republicans to pass the Senate-approved budget.
