Trump DOJ Fights Back: Supreme Court Urged to Overturn Radical Clinton Judge’s Ruling

The Trump Department of Justice is taking bold action, asking the Supreme Court to intervene against a radical decision by a Clinton-appointed judge. This comes after Judge William Alsup in San Francisco mandated the reinstatement of 16,000 probationary federal employees.

Earlier, Judge Alsup ruled that the Trump Administration’s Office of Personnel Management (OPM) wrongfully terminated these probationary employees. His order impacts six federal agencies, including the Department of Veterans Affairs, Defense, Energy, Interior, Treasury, and Agriculture.

Judge Alsup expressed his dissatisfaction with the administration, stating, “It is a sad day when our government would fire some good employee and say it was based on performance when they know good and well that’s a lie. That should not have been done in our country. It was a sham in order to avoid statutory requirements.”

In response, DOJ official Chad Mizelle emphasized the overreach of the court’s decision in a detailed brief. Mizelle argued that the injunction disrupts the critical relationship between the federal government and its workforce, infringing upon the Executive Branch’s authority over personnel decisions.

DOJ just took to the Supreme Court a single district judge’s order forcing the reinstatement of 16,000 probationary employees.
