Tim Walz’s Attack on Democracy and Election Integrity

Minnesota’s own Governor Tim Walz is at it again, proposing a so-called “shadow government” to oppose President Trump’s efforts to ensure election integrity in our great nation. At a recent town hall in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, Walz unveiled his plan to host an “alternate press conference” to counteract what he calls the Trump administration’s narrative.

Walz was campaigning for Judge Susan Crawford, a liberal in disguise as a judicial candidate for Wisconsin’s Supreme Court race. In stark contrast, GOP representative Brad Schimel is standing strong in this pivotal election. A Democrat victory could lead to redistricting, potentially securing them a House majority by 2026.

The governor took the opportunity to criticize Trump’s administration, accusing it of “restricting the vote” after a new executive order. This order, signed on Tuesday, mandates the Election Assistance Commission to update voter registration forms to require proof of citizenship—a measure aimed at ensuring that only American citizens have the right to vote.

“We see one of the first things they do is try and restrict the vote,” Walz exclaimed. “I don’t know what the answer is on this, but I’m kind of—I’ve been saying this: I think we need a shadow government, so when all these things come up every single day, we’ve got an alternate press conference telling the truth about what things are happening, tell them what’s going on.”

What Governor Walz is proposing isn’t just political theater—it’s a direct attack on our democracy. After losing the 2024 election in a resounding defeat where President Trump and Vice President JD Vance secured a commanding 312 electoral votes over Kamala Harris and Walz’s 226, the Democrats are desperately clawing for power by any means necessary.

Refusing to accept the voters’ rejection of their radical agenda, Walz now suggests forming an unelected group to run a parallel government, complete with its own propaganda machine to drown out the voice of the duly elected administration. If this isn’t a threat to our republic, then what is?
