In a shocking turn of events in Houston, an embalmer named Amber Laudermilk has been taken into custody, facing charges of **abuse of a corpse**. She is accused of gruesome acts on the body of a deceased sex offender, Charles Roy Rodriguez.

The allegations are alarming: Laudermilk reportedly castrated the corpse, stabbed him twice, and shockingly, placed the severed genitals into the man’s mouth. This horrifying scene reportedly unfolded last month at the Memorial Mortuary & Crematory, witnessed by an embalming student.

Laudermilk allegedly remarked to the student, “You didn’t see anything,” after committing the act on Rodriguez, a 58-year-old with a criminal past involving sexual assault.

The New York Post reported from the charging documents that when questioned about Rodriguez’s disfigurement, Laudermilk simply stated that he had “a lot going on with him.”

Rodriguez, a convicted sex offender due to a 2001 incident, passed away from natural causes in January. The connection between him and Laudermilk remains unclear.

Following the incident, Laudermilk surrendered herself to the authorities, with a bond set at $5,000. Harris County Constable Precinct 1 provided a full statement on their Facebook page.

Constable Alan Rosen commented on the case, emphasizing the importance of treating all individuals, regardless of past crimes, with dignity after death. He acknowledged the complexities of the situation, saying, “No matter what one thinks of his life, the law requires that he be treated with dignity in death.”

Rosen further expressed empathy for victims of sexual assault, recognizing the anger in Laudermilk’s actions. He hopes that as the case unfolds in court, Laudermilk receives the necessary help.

The Texas Funeral Service Commission has handed the case over to the Office of Harris County Constable Precinct One for further investigation. As the legal proceedings continue, the community remains attentive to the developments in this unsettling case.
