In a daring move, Russian commandos made a strategic advance across a seven-mile gas pipeline, catching Ukrainian defenders off guard in a remarkable breakthrough during the liberation of Kursk. Reports have surfaced online detailing how over a hundred Russian troops maneuvered through the pipeline to emerge behind Ukrainian positions in the Sudzha area.
This operation is a testament to Russian ingenuity and was prepared meticulously. The area where the troops emerged was cleared in advance using aerial bombs, as per reports from multiple Telegram channels including Sputnik, Intel Slava Z, Lord Bebo, and Slavyangrad.

The troops utilized the underground Urengoy-Pomary-Uzhgorod gas pipeline, with a diameter of 1.4 meters, once a vital conduit for gas supplies to Europe. This clever maneuver is not without precedent; similar tactics were employed during the storming of Avdeevka.
The Ukrainian Butusov’s channel reported, “Today, a breakthrough of enemy infantry was discovered in the area of the city of Sudzha – the Russians used a gas pipeline to transfer an assault company unnoticed by drones, and wedged themselves into our battle formations.”
This strategy was possible because Ukraine halted gas transit through the Uzbgorod pipeline, leaving it empty and ripe for Russian exploitation.
Even German pro-Ukrainian journalist Julian Ropcke acknowledged the operation. The breakthrough by Russian forces is a significant strategic win, utilizing the underground gas pipeline to infiltrate Ukrainian defenses.
