Rosie O’Donnell, a vocal critic of President Trump, has finally made good on her promise to leave the United States. In a heartfelt TikTok video, she revealed that she and her 12-year-old child have relocated to Ireland, vowing not to return until America is “safe” again.
“I was never someone who thought I would move to another country,” O’Donnell shared. “But that’s what I decided would be best for myself and my 12-year-old child. And here we are.”
Expressing mixed feelings, she continued, “I’m happy. Clay is happy. I miss my other kids. I miss my friends. I miss many things about life there at home.” She emphasized her hope for equal rights for all Americans, stating, “when it is safe for all citizens to have equal rights there in America, that’s when we will consider coming back.”
Not holding back, O’Donnell criticized the mainstream media for what she perceives as their failure to hold Trump accountable, encouraging her fellow Americans to “stand up” against the administration.
“The mainstream media has been letting us all down in America, where the fourth estate is required to maintain a democracy,” she asserted. “They haven’t been doing their jobs.”
O’Donnell encouraged activism, stating, “I encourage everyone to stand up, to use their voice, to protest, to demand that we follow the constitution in our country, and not a king and not a man, and we don’t have cruelty as part of our governing style.”
She also mentioned her application for Irish citizenship, which she qualifies for due to her ancestry, as her grandparents were born in Ireland.
NEW: Rosie O’Donnell confirms she has fled the United States for Ireland following the election of Donald Trump. The 62-year-old says she left and dragged her 12-year-old daughter with her because not all Americans have equal rights now.

The feud between Trump and O’Donnell has been well-documented, with roots stretching back to before Trump’s rise in politics. O’Donnell isn’t alone among Hollywood elites who have decided to leave the country, post-Trump’s second presidency.
One of the most notable exits was Ellen DeGeneres, along with her wife Portia deRossi, who relocated to the United Kingdom prior to Trump’s inauguration.
