Since his triumphant return to the White House in January, President Donald J. Trump has faced an unparalleled legal barrage from leftist activist judges and groups with a clear agenda to derail his administration at every opportunity.
Speaking on The War Room with Steve Bannon, Josh Hammer, Senior Counsel for the Article III Project, highlighted that this isn’t mere judicial activism—it’s an outright judicial insurrection.
Similar to the tactics used during his first term, the left has mobilized their radical activist judges to attack President Trump. After nearly two months in office, these judges continue to cause chaos for the Trump administration and the nation as a whole.
The Supreme Court has yet to put a stop to this lawlessness from these far-left activists.
Attorney Josh Hammer: “Let me just lay the scene briefly here. What we’re seeing is not just judicial activism, Steve. I used the words very carefully there. I mean, this is a full-on judicial insurrection, going back to the very first days of this administration in power.
By the way, those of us with a long enough memory to remember the first Trump administration. This is nothing new.
The first Trump administration from 2017 to 2021, faced, by my count, I believe, it was 65 so-called nationwide injunctions, which, by the way, is more than the first 44 presidents of the United States combined, literally in all of American history, faced there.
They basically picked up in January, just last month, as if they hadn’t lost a beat over the past four years. Whether it’s a judge in Washington State or Ohio or Washington DC or Florida, or Hawaii, the notion that you can issue a TRO, a temporary restraining order, and thereby try to bring a federal executive branch policy and executive order to halt. It’s completely anathema. It’s bat-crap crazy. That’s not how the separation of powers works.”
On Wednesday, Judge Tanya Chutkan made a controversial decision allowing state attorneys general to access information about DOGE employees working to combat government waste and fraud, effectively putting them at risk from violent leftists. Meanwhile, Judge Beryl Howell blocked President Trump from barring the left-leaning law firm Perkins Coie from government dealings—a firm central to the Russia-Putin hoax during Trump’s first term.
Josh Hammer emphasized how these activist judges are relentlessly working to shut down the Trump administration through what appears to be coordinated judicial activism.
During Trump’s first administration, there were 65 nationwide injunctions. In just two months this year, President Trump has faced a staggering 119 legal challenges from activist judges, with only two cases resolved so far.
The full roster of these 119 legal battles is available on the Just Security website, and US News is also tracking these lawsuits.
According to Elon Musk’s Grok AI:
The Average Across 46 Presidents: Most pre-20th-century presidents faced 0-5 legal challenges, often indirect. Modern presidents (post-1945) average 10-30, driven by increased judicial oversight and partisan litigation.
Outliers: Trump stands out with potentially 100+ challenges, dwarfing Clinton (10-15), Nixon (5-10), and others. This reflects both his polarizing actions and the current era’s litigious climate.
This leftist judicial insurrection has already doubled President Trump’s legal challenges just two months into his second term. This is more than double the challenges he encountered during his first term.
It is clear that this is a concerted attack by the left to undermine Trump’s exceptional administration and the nation. How long will patriots allow this judicial anarchy to persist? When will these rogue judges face justice?
