In a resounding show of support, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton would handily defeat RINO Senator John Cornyn in a Republican primary, according to a recent poll. The survey, conducted by Frabrizio, Lee & Associates, highlights Paxton’s strong lead over Cornyn, a staple of the Republican establishment known for his alignment with Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell and his less-than-favorable view of President Trump.
The initial poll results reveal Paxton ahead of Cornyn with a remarkable 53 percent to 28 percent lead. This significant margin indicates a likely uncontested race if these trends persist. Furthermore, when informed about the candidates’ backgrounds, Paxton’s support skyrocketed to an impressive 70 percent, while Cornyn’s numbers dwindled to a mere 14 percent.
The poll surveyed 600 likely GOP primary voters, painting a clear picture of Paxton’s dominance among the Republican electorate.

Though Paxton hasn’t officially declared his candidacy, he has been vocal about his potential challenge to Cornyn. The tensions between the two have been palpable, especially after Cornyn supported unsuccessful attempts by Democrats and establishment Republicans to impeach Paxton on inflated securities fraud charges.
At a Turning Point USA event last December, Paxton was questioned about running for the Texas Senate. He cleverly responded, “How about if I say this? Not yet. We are definitely…I am praying about it. We are looking at that.”
He continued, “I’m talking to a lot of people in Texas over the next couple of months. Ask me that question in a couple of months, and I’ll have a different answer.”
With a roaring approval from the crowd, Paxton concluded, “That’s good. Let me just say that was a very encouraging response.”
