In a recent revelation, Jeffrey Goldberg, the editor-in-chief of The Atlantic known for his anti-Trump stance, claims he was inadvertently added to a classified Signal group chat involving senior Trump administration officials. The chat reportedly concerned sensitive military operations against Iran-backed Houthi terrorists in Yemen.
Goldberg is no stranger to controversy, having previously authored the debunked “suckers and losers” hoax just before the 2020 election.

Goldberg claims that National Security Adviser Mike Waltz, alongside Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and Vice President JD Vance, were engaged in discussions within the “Houthi PC small group” about strategic moves against the Houthi rebels.
Rather than exiting gracefully, Goldberg acted as expected from a far-left journalist, capturing screenshots and attempting to leak details of the military operation.
In his report, Goldberg admits that Waltz invited him into this critical group with top Trump officials. The question is, how could such a blunder occur? Was this a deliberate action, or merely carelessness on Waltz’s part?
On Tuesday morning, AXIOS reported that they anticipate Waltz will weather this storm:
Four top administration officials tell Axios they expect the controversy to die down and Waltz to remain. Four outside advisers concurred.
“We don’t care what the media says,” a Trump adviser said. “We can easily handle what would kill any other administration. This will blow over.” A senior White House official added: “Trump certainly wasn’t pleased with this. But all this talk you see about Waltz not lasting is just way premature. There’s a Washington feeding frenzy. And we all know that you don’t give the mob what it wants.”
The situation raises serious questions: how could a top Trump official permit a notorious media figure into a private group chat with senior Trump officials? An explanation from Waltz is imperative. Numerous loyal Trump supporters are capable of stepping into his role if necessary.
In spite of the error, President Trump is reportedly standing by Waltz.
