Conservative Prime Minister of Italy, Giorgia Meloni, continues to demonstrate her bold leadership by distancing herself from the Euro-Globalist agenda. Known as a steadfast ally of Donald Trump, Meloni is not afraid to stand her ground, especially in the face of ongoing challenges within the European Union.

On March 18, Meloni cautioned her European counterparts against escalating a trade spat with the United States by imposing retaliatory tariffs. This move opposes the stance of EU Commissioner Ursula von der Leyen and several Trump-opposing leaders.
She urged the ‘Western allies’ to nurture the vital transatlantic link between Europe and the U.S., rejecting any notion of forming an ‘independent security umbrella’ for Europe.
“It is a simple fact of reality that it is not possible to envision a lasting security guarantee by dividing Europe and the United States,” she told parliament ahead of a summit of EU leaders later this week.

While UK Prime Minister Starmer is rallying support to aid Ukraine, Meloni remains steadfast against prolonging the conflict. Following Trump’s decisive actions that encouraged Ukraine towards peace and imposed tariffs on European steel and aluminum, Meloni stands firm in her convictions.
The EU, planning to enact counter-tariffs on $28 billion of U.S. goods next month, faces Meloni’s criticism. She advocates for a rational approach instead.
“I am not certain that responding to tariffs with more tariffs is necessarily a good deal,” she said, warning of the potential for inflationary pressures and economic slowdowns.
“For this reason, I believe Italy’s efforts should be directed toward seeking common-sense solutions between the United States and Europe, guided more by logic than by instinct,” she said.
Having forged enduring ties with Trump, Meloni visited him at Mar-a-Lago and was notably the only European leader at his inauguration. With the UK and France pushing for a European peacekeeping force in Ukraine—a strategy rejected by Russia—Meloni remains opposed.
She has consistently ruled out Italy’s involvement in this plan, dismissing it as complex, risky, and ineffective.
“The deployment of Italian troops to Ukraine has never been on the agenda, just as we believe that the deployment of European troops proposed by France and the United Kingdom is a very complex, risky, and ineffective option,” she said.
