Pollster Frank Luntz is no stranger to eyebrow-raising comments, but his latest take on Senator Cory Booker’s filibuster truly stands out. Luntz’s assertion that Booker’s filibuster might have “changed the course of political history” is a head-scratcher, even by his standards.
On News Nation, Luntz shared his thoughts on Booker’s extended speech, labeling it as a historical turning point. “I want to emphasize what Cory Booker did over the last 24 hours may have changed the course of political history. I watched a lot of it. I listened to words. I listened to phrases,” Luntz stated on NewsNation’s “On Balance.”

Frank Luntz: Booker marathon speech ‘may have changed the course of political history’
Luntz believes Booker’s record-breaking Senate speech resonated with Americans during the contentious Trump administration. “He struck the kind of tone that grassroots Democrats are looking for. He gave them a reason to fight. He gave them a reason to stand up and say, this is my country too,” Luntz conveyed to anchor Leland Vittert.
Adding more fuel to the fire, Luntz remarked, “Of course, every Republican watching will say, ‘This is nonsense.’ But he is not speaking just to Republicans, he’s speaking to Americans, and what I saw over the last 25 hours absolutely blew me away.”

Reactions on Twitter, however, show that many are not buying Luntz’s take on Booker’s speech:
Cory Booker changed the course of political history the way Frank Luntz changed the course of men’s toupees.

OMG. the really sad part is, he is pretending to be serious.

With reactions like these, it’s clear that Luntz’s comments have been met with skepticism. Most people probably won’t remember Booker’s filibuster in a week. Laughable, indeed.
