In a bold move, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt took a stand against a fake news reporter who was pushing a misleading narrative about the deportation of a so-called “innocent Maryland father.”
The mainstream media was quick to jump on a story claiming that the Trump Administration unjustly deported a Maryland man with protected legal status to El Salvador’s infamous CECOT prison. ABC News provided coverage of this story:
A Maryland man with protected legal status was sent to the notorious prison in El Salvador following an “administrative error,” a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) official admitted in a sworn declaration on Monday.
Kilmar Armando Abrego Garcia, who is married to a U.S. citizen and has a 5-year-old child, found himself at CECOT, a notorious prison known for housing dangerous criminals.
This unfortunate situation is part of a lawsuit filed by Abrego Garcia’s lawyers, demanding his swift return to the U.S. They argue that he was sent to El Salvador “because of an administrative error” and assert that there is no evidence connecting him to criminal activities, such as gang affiliation.
Although the government acknowledges the error, it points out that since Abrego Garcia is out of U.S. custody, the court does not have jurisdiction to demand his return, nor can it compel El Salvador to act.
It’s important to recognize that Abrego Garcia was actually a member of the notorious MS-13 gang, a group officially recognized as a terrorist organization, and was involved in human trafficking. So, the question remains: why does the media persist in defending dangerous individuals?
