In a remarkable House Judiciary Committee hearing, GOP Congressman Darrell Issa (R-CA) delivered a powerful rebuke to Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX), dismantling her baseless criticisms of Republican efforts to curb activist judges thwarting President Trump’s agenda.
Rep. Crockett attempted to reprimand Republicans for standing against judicial overreach, but her arguments quickly crumbled under scrutiny. She claimed, “The problem right now is if we continue down this road, then we will not have a rule of law,” urging adherence to judicial orders even when disagreeing with them.
Her remarks ignored the reality that certain judges have been blocking critical executive orders on issues like illegal immigration and reducing government size. Republicans have justly proposed solutions such as impeaching these partisan judges and ending nationwide injunctions to restore order.
Crockett’s own hypocrisy was laid bare when she co-sponsored a bill with Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) to impeach Supreme Court Justices Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito. AOC had previously stated that their actions posed “a grave threat to American rule of law” due to alleged conflicts of interest.
Congressman Issa seized the opportunity to highlight this inconsistency, stating, “I’m going to note that when Miss Ocasio-Cortez filed articles of impeachment against Justice Thomas and Alito, Miss Crockett was one of the co-sponsors. It does seem interesting that when the shoe is on the other foot, everyone is self-righteous.”
Issa’s words resonated with the audience, reinforcing the GOP’s commitment to upholding the Constitution and exposing the Democrats’ double standards.
Jasmine Crockett starts HYPERVENTILATING about protecting the institution of the judiciary — before PROMPTLY being reminded by Rep. @DarrellIssa that she cosponsored legislation to impeach Justices Thomas & Alito!
