In the face of a globalist agenda and interference, right-wing champions George Simion and Anamaria Gavrila are taking the lead in Romania’s presidential race. Despite attempts by the liberal-globalist establishment to sway the nation away from electing leaders who stand against EU globalist policies and pro-war stances, true patriots are showing their support.
Initially, the Romanian officials attempted to thwart the people’s will by cancelling elections won by conservative favorite Calin Georgescu, ultimately barring his candidacy. However, the spirit of patriotism remains undeterred as Simion and Gavrila announce their candidacies, rising to the top of opinion polls leading up to the May elections.
NATO and EU member Romania is due to repeat its two-round presidential election on May 4 and 18 after the top court voided the original vote in December amid accusations of Russian meddling in favor of far-right candidate Calin Georgescu, who had been leading in the polls.
Reuters reported that despite the cancellation of the previous election and the barring of Georgescu, Romania’s Central Electoral Bureau has now accepted the candidacies of both Simion and Gavrila. The two have agreed that one candidate will step aside if both are approved, although no decision has yet been made as to who will withdraw.
Simion, leading the Alliance of Uniting Romanians (AUR), and Gavrila, at the helm of the Young People Party (POT), have energized the nation with their call to nationalism and strong rhetoric. Survey results from AtlasIntel show that these candidates are leading in the polls, with Simion projected to receive 30.4% and Gavrila 30.2% of the votes in the first round.
Bucharest Mayor Nicusor Dan, an independent, is anticipated to secure the second round due to widespread appeal, yet many voters remain undecided, revealing the potential for a pivotal shift in the political landscape.
