Senator Joni Ernst of Iowa took to the stage on the FOX Business Network to discuss her ongoing efforts with the Office of Government Efficiency (DOGE). What caught the spotlight, however, was her revelation about federal workers protesting the very notion of returning to the office—a scenario almost too strange to believe.

Senator Ernst highlighted the disconnect between federal employees and the everyday American worker, as millions nationwide have continued their daily commutes while others protested coming back to work in person. The irony was not lost on Ernst as she expressed her viewpoint.

The Daily Wire captured her sentiments perfectly:

‘You Can’t Make This Up’: Ernst Says Remote Workers Came Back Only To Protest Returning To Office

According to Ernst, some federal employees obliged to return in person showed up solely to protest this directive. During her conversation with Maria Bartiromo on Fox News, she stated, “We actually had workers that showed up at the office to protest having to come back to work at the office.” She continued to express her dedication to tackling these inefficiencies through her work with DOGE and her ten-year commitment to SQUEAL.

One of President Trump’s initial acts was to mandate the return of federal employees to their offices:

Heads of all departments and agencies in the executive branch of Government shall, as soon as practicable, take all necessary steps to terminate remote work arrangements and require employees to return to work in-person at their respective duty stations on a full-time basis, provided that the department and agency heads shall make exemptions they deem necessary.

This memorandum shall be implemented consistent with applicable law.

The message is clear: those in the federal government unwilling to adhere to this directive should seek employment elsewhere. It’s a straightforward solution for a straightforward issue.
